The Packaging Inventory Clerk plays a key role in managing raw material inventory within the logistics supply chain, ensuring compliance with product quality standards and inventory governance processes. This role requires accuracy in tracking physical inventory movement, maintaining SAP records, and investigating any discrepancies to support efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to raw material inventory quality standards in line with VPO requirements.
  • Accurately block inventory in SAP and implement physical blocking mechanisms for quality-related and obsolete stock.
  • Maintain compliance with freshness and rotation policies to uphold product quality.
  • Conduct inventory counts with clear documentation of quantities, storage locations, and best-before dates.
  • Apply and secure approvals for inventory concessions in line with product age standards.
  • Oversee salvage stock repacking and proper handling of obsolete stock according to policies.
  • Ensure timely Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) processing for received stock.
  • Perform independent inventory counts, reconcile with SAP records, and investigate discrepancies, escalating unresolved issues to the RM Controller.
  • Accurately process all physical inventory movements in SAP, validate packaging receipts, and verify write-offs against signed documentation.
  • Manage breakages, obsolescence, and salvage stock, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
  • Review and resolve daily open shipments, ensuring proper documentation for all claims and reimbursements.
  • Monitor supply chain overhead budget and report on gaps with action plans.
  • Plan and manage daily team workload, ensuring governance and compliance with stock control policies.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly stock counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Implement good waste management practices, apply housekeeping principles, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Handle HR and administrative duties, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support operational efficiency.
  • Perform daily stock reconciliations and ensure compliance with weekly PRP requirements.
  • Maintain secure documentation of inventory records, shipment packs, and gate registers.
  • Conduct random security and compliance checks on site to verify inventory integrity.

Candidate Profile

  • National Diploma in Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a relevant field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a stock control environment.
  • Strong knowledge of stock control processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
  • Licensed Forklift Truck (FLT) driver.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organized and capable of working in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize workload.
