Boxer Vacancies – Operations Accountant

Boxer Retail Limited, one of Southern Africa’s fastest-growing grocery retailers, is seeking an experienced Operations Accountant to join our team. This role offers a blend of financial management, operational insights, and hands-on involvement in driving efficiency across our nationwide stores. As an integral part of our operations, you’ll also enjoy extensive travel and the chance to make a real impact on our business.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant CA(SA), ACMA/CGMA, or comparable financial qualifications.
  • Strong background in operational accounting.

Experience:

  • 1-2+ years post-qualification experience in retail, production, manufacturing, or similar operational environments.
  • Proven ability to apply financial expertise to practical operational challenges.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • SAP experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to forecast and drive financial insights.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel extensively across South Africa.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee financial processes and ensure compliance across operational functions.
  • Operational Analysis: Dive deep into financial and operational data, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Insightful Recommendations: Provide actionable insights to support decision-making at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • On-Site Collaboration: Travel to various stores across South Africa, working closely with local teams to align operational goals with financial performance.
