ENVIRONMENT:
Datafin is seeking a confident, dynamic, and digitally savvy Online Sales Key Account Manager to join our Sales team in Cape Town or Johannesburg. The role focuses on managing and growing key online and retail sales accounts, including eCommerce platforms, digital marketplaces, and online/offline retailers. The ideal candidate will combine strategic account management with digital business development to drive sales growth, optimize product visibility, and enhance digital customer experiences. This position is ideal for a results-driven professional with strong analytical, negotiation, and digital sales skills who seeks long-term career growth.
DUTIES:
Online Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key online sales accounts, including eCommerce retailers, marketplaces, and direct-to-consumer platforms.
- Track and analyse online sell-in and sell-out rates, ensuring accurate forecasting and inventory management.
- Optimize digital product listings with accurate descriptions, competitive pricing, and compelling visuals.
- Monitor and improve customer ratings, reviews, and overall brand perception on online platforms.
- Address and resolve client issues promptly to boost satisfaction and retention.
Digital Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s online presence and market share.
- Conduct online sales prospecting, research emerging eCommerce trends, and engage with digital retailers.
- Develop strategies to increase conversion rates, sales velocity, and customer engagement.
- Collaborate with Marketing to optimize digital campaigns, promotions, and search engine visibility.
- Provide competitor insights to guide pricing, promotions, and assortment strategies.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Implement data-driven strategies to achieve online revenue and profitability targets.
- Analyse online/offline account performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Deliver tailored digital sales presentations and business proposals to online retailers.
- Ensure alignment between online sales objectives and overall company goals.
- Submit timely sales reports, forecasts, and performance insights.
eCommerce & Digital Marketing Collaboration:
- Partner with Marketing to enhance product visibility and sales on key platforms.
- Co-develop promotional campaigns, including flash sales, bundles, and seasonal offers.
- Track consumer behaviour to identify sales performance improvement opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years of experience in Online/Offline Sales, eCommerce Account Management, or Digital Business Development.
- Proven track record in offline account management and growing key account channels.
- Experience in telecommunications, mobile handset distribution, consumer electronics, or IT hardware/software (advantageous).
- Strong history of meeting/exceeding online sales targets.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Takealot, Amazon, Shopify).
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyse sales data.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport (for client meetings if required).
Advantageous:
- Certification in Sales, Business Management, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
