Santam, South Africa’s leading short-term insurer, is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to join our dynamic Digital team. This role focuses on building and enhancing applications that enable our teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.

About the Role
As a .NET Developer, you will work on creating new applications, maintaining existing ones, writing unit tests, and conducting code reviews. Collaborating in an Agile environment, you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust applications using C#/.NET.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and team members to ensure successful Agile project delivery.
  • Assist in solution design with guidance from Solutions Architects.
  • Estimate development efforts and contribute to delivery timelines.
  • Review and document code following established standards.
  • Address and resolve support issues efficiently.
  • Provide mentorship to Junior and Trainee Developers.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, user acceptance testing, demos, and training for new solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and propose innovative ideas to enhance technology and processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a .NET Developer.
  • Proficiency in:
    • C#.Net (.NET 4.8 and .NET Core)
    • JavaScript (ES6 and above), HTML5, CSS3
    • React (Hooks and Functional Components) – advantageous
    • Typescript – advantageous
    • REST and SOAP APIs
    • Responsive/Adaptive Web Design
    • Relational and NoSQL Databases
    • Visual Studio / VS Code and Git for source control
  • Familiarity with automated testing and Agile methodologies is a plus.
