Dischem Vacancies – Nail Technician

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Nail Technician to join our team, serving various salons in the Balito Junction area in KwaZulu-Natal. As a Nail Technician, you’ll have the unique opportunity to build your own client base while showcasing the extensive range of nail treatments available at Dis-Chem.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12/Matric or Senior Certificate
• Certified Nail Technician (expertise in both gel and acrylic)
• At least 2 years of experience in a professional beauty/nail salon
• Willingness to work retail hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional nail care services, including manicures, pedicures, and specialized nail treatments.
• Build and maintain a loyal customer base through excellent service and client relations.
• Promote Dis-Chem’s nail treatments and products through monthly promotions.
• Meet and exceed monthly treatment and product sales targets.
• Attend ongoing training sessions to stay current with the latest products and techniques.
• Maintain accurate records and submit monthly reports.
• Follow Dis-Chem’s service payment and stock management procedures.
• Report customer compliments and complaints, and ensure new customers complete information cards.
• Ensure effective merchandising and promotional displays.

Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of nail technology, including correct product application and nail contraindications.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong command of the English language.
• Strong teamwork skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
• High level of integrity and honesty.
• Ability to meet deadlines and achieve sales targets.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual skills (an advantage).

Special Conditions:

• Must be fit and able to perform all nail technician duties.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, or reside near Balito Junction.
• South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
• Ability to work retail hours as required.
