Role: Millwright – Olifantsfontein Cereals Plant

We are looking for an experienced Millwright to join our team at the Olifantsfontein Cereals Plant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with expertise in machinery maintenance and mechanical operations to contribute to the plant’s success.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement scheduled maintenance plans for plant machinery and equipment.
  • Budget & Expenditure Management: Plan and manage the annual maintenance budget and capital expenditures.
  • Machinery Repairs: Perform repairs and maintenance on fruit packing machinery and other plant equipment.
  • Plant Improvements: Coordinate and implement improvements to minimize wastage or damage to produce.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and supervise mechanical subordinates to ensure optimal service levels and minimize plant downtime.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks on work performed (both internal and external).
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain high safety standards and ensure adherence to the OHS Act within the department.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative and financial tasks related to maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the mechanical workings of machinery and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and diagrams.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in a medium to large production facility.
  • Solid understanding of the OHS Act, regulations, and relevant codes.
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory, and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, with a minimum of N3.
  • Qualified Millwright (Red Seal).
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts and standby when required.
