Job Description:
As a Millwright, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment. Your expertise will help maintain production targets by adhering to maintenance procedures, performing repairs, and minimizing plant downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure machinery is available and utilized to full capacity.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Execute planned and preventative maintenance to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Minimize plant downtime through effective maintenance in line with good engineering practices and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Rewire electrical machinery to improve performance and reliability.
  • Overhaul and maintain spare or older machinery to ensure availability during breakdowns.
  • Maintain NH3 refrigeration plant and site services, including boiler steam lines.
  • Efficiently manage stocks of spares and equipment needed for plant maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement to maximize plant efficiency.
  • Adhere to company health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Matric or equivalent with N3 Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Trade Test: Electro-mechanics Trade Test is required.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of Millwright experience working with fast-moving packaging machines in an FMCG environment.
    • Experience working in an electro-mechanics environment, particularly in industrial ammonia refrigeration plant operation and coal-fired boiler maintenance (advantageous).
    • Proficiency in Argon welding and knowledge of frequency inverters and drum motors.
