Overview:
As a Millwright – Culinary Limpopo, you will ensure mechanical and electrical equipment is maintained in optimal working condition. By adhering to maintenance procedures, you will enable the production team to meet targets while minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure machinery is fully operational and utilized to its full capacity.
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance to enhance operational efficiency.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment, including boilers, sterilizers, conveyors, and pumps.
• Minimize plant downtime through effective and efficient maintenance practices.
• Rewire electrical machinery to implement effective improvements.
• Overhaul and maintain spare machinery for availability during breakdowns.
• Comply with safety regulations, such as LOTOTO, at all times.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to understand machinery assembly.
• Work on hydraulic and pneumatic machines with PLC circuits.
• Align pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, electric motors, and pulleys.
• Maintain 5S and hygiene standards suitable for a food manufacturing environment.
• Manage stock of spares and equipment required for plant maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement to maximize plant efficiency.
• Supervise and train assistants and apprentices.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Requirements:
  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • N3 in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Electro-mechanics Trade Test.
• Technical Competencies:
  • Strong mechanical and engineering skills.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, AC drives, and motor starters.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Argon welding and basic rigging skills.
  • Pump, gearbox, and conveyor alignment expertise.
• Attributes:
  • Analytical problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High energy levels and operational discipline.

Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Millwright in fast-moving packaging machines.
• 3+ years in an FMCG environment.
• Hands-on experience in electro-mechanics.
