Position Overview

Tiger Brands is seeking an experienced Milling Operations HR Manager to lead the development and implementation of HR initiatives tailored for our milling operations. This role involves providing strategic HR support to business leaders, ensuring the alignment of HR functions with the overall business objectives. You will manage talent acquisition, employee relations, leadership development, and compliance to maintain a high-performance workforce within the milling division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnering: Collaborate with milling operations leaders to translate business strategies into HR requirements, supporting talent management, organisational development, and capability building.
  • HR Solutions Development: Work with HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and HR Operations to deliver solutions that meet the specific needs of the milling division.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Monitor employee engagement levels and drive action plans to enhance employee experience and meet Employment Equity (EE) targets.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to labour legislation, including BCEA, OHSA, LRA, and EE. Represent the company in external dispute resolution processes, including CCMA and bargaining councils.
  • Talent & Succession Planning: Develop and implement strategic resourcing plans to address talent gaps, succession risks, and the impact of mergers or divestments.
  • Leadership Development: Facilitate leadership development programs within the milling division to enhance management capability and build future leaders.
  • Audit & Reporting: Conduct EE assessments and consolidate audit results, recommending corrective actions to drive progress.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional qualification in HR (e.g., CIPD).
  • Experience:
    • HR Manager 1: 8–12 years of related HR experience, with Executive-level business partnering.
    • HR Manager 2: 5–7 years of related HR experience, with Senior Management-level business partnering.
  • HR Expertise: Proven track record in implementing impactful HR programs in employee relations, employment equity, talent management, and organisational development.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of milling industry trends and processes.
    • Inspirational collaboration skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Knowledge of labour laws and experience in handling labour disputes.
