DisChem Vacancies – Merchandiser – Victory Park

Job Description:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Merchandiser to join our team in Victory Park, Randburg. As a Merchandiser, you will ensure that Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards are consistently executed and maintained. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock Management: Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales and ensure that the full range of products is available on shelves at all times.
• Inventory Control: Store and pack delivered stock or stock pulled from the storeroom promptly and accurately. Monitor stock levels, check for sell-by dates, and report any low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged goods, or expired products to management.
• Merchandising Standards: Adhere to Dis-Chem’s operating standards, store layout, and planograms. Ensure shelves and products are neatly presented, correctly labeled, and priced.
• FIFO Rotation: Facilitate regular rotation of stock on a First In, First Out (FIFO) basis.
• Stocktaking: Assist with counting stock files and general stocktaking to ensure accurate inventory management.
• Store Maintenance: Maintain the daily physical upkeep of the store and merchandise displays. Ensure the storeroom and shop floor are organized and free of clutter.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance to all customers. Follow up on out-of-stock queries and resolve any customer stock issues.
• Training & Support: Assist in the training of new staff and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Compliance: Adhere to Dis-Chem’s policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and health and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
• Experience: Up to 6 months of retail experience.
• Skills: Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office.
• Availability: Willing and able to work retail hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 1 year of retail experience.
• Skills: Bilingual, knowledge of merchandising standards, FMCG industry experience, and the ability to analyze ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking.

• Strong command of the English language and presentable appearance.
• Effective engagement with customers, management, and staff.
• Trustworthy, honest, and reliable with good time management skills.
• Ability to identify and report suspicious behavior.
