Job Description:
Buco is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Merchandiser to join our team in Port Alfred. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective display and management of stock, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting sales goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service and support to meet customer needs.
- Sales Targets: Achieve sales and gross profit targets.
- Administrative Duties: Handle necessary administration and reporting tasks.
- Stock Merchandising: Ensure stock is properly displayed, managed, and merchandised according to standards.
- Quote Follow-Up: Follow up on customer quotes to convert inquiries into sales.
- Stock Placement: Ensure correct placement and display of stock in the store.
- Stock Management: Handle the return of stock not removed from its location, and report on stock depletion, removal, or damage.
- Product Promotions: Assist in promoting products to increase sales.
- Customer Assistance: Aid customers in finding and purchasing products.
- Merchandising Standards: Ensure compliance with merchandising standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all merchandising-related equipment in good working order.
- Uphold Company Values: Promote and uphold the company values and culture in all tasks.
Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12
- Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- 1 year of shelf packing/merchandising experience.
- Knowledge of the general building material environment is essential.
- Proven success in personal selling, achieving sales targets, customer service, and finding new business opportunities.
