Job Description:

Buco is seeking a motivated Merchandiser to join our team in Malelane. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing stock, achieving sales targets, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Base Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  2. Customer Service: Provide outstanding service and support to customers.
  3. Sales Targets: Achieve set sales and gross profit targets.
  4. Administration & Reporting: Handle administrative tasks and generate sales reports.
  5. Stock Merchandising: Ensure effective merchandising of stock to maximize sales.
  6. Quote Follow-Up: Follow up on quotes to secure sales.
  7. Stock Placement: Properly place stock to optimize display and accessibility.
  8. Stock Returns: Manage the return of stock not removed from its location.
  9. Display Standards: Ensure stock is displayed correctly and attractively.
  10. Damage Reporting: Report any damaged stock promptly.
  11. Receiving & Checking: Receive and check stock to ensure accuracy.
  12. Stock Depletion Reporting: Report on stock depletion or removal.
  13. Product Promotions: Implement product promotions to boost sales.
  14. Customer Assistance: Aid customers with their needs and inquiries.
  15. Merchandising Standards: Maintain compliance with merchandising standards.
  16. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that merchandising equipment is well-maintained.
  17. Company Values: Uphold and promote Buco’s values and culture.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a similar position, with at least 1 year of shelf packing/merchandising experience
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the general building material environment is essential
  • Skills:
    • Proven success in achieving sales targets and personal selling
    • Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes
    • Strong customer interaction skills
