DisChem Vacancies – Medical Aid Administrator

Job Description:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Aid Administrator to join our team at the Head Office in Midrand. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately capturing high volumes of medical aid payments, collecting outstanding amounts from Medical Schemes, and providing essential support to our stores and assisting with claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remittance Management: Balance the remittance register and oversee direct deposits after month-end.
  • Payment Allocation: Accurately allocate and update medical aid payments on a daily basis.
  • Adjustments Processing: Process and review daily adjustments, investigating all scripts appearing on the adjustment and outstanding list.
  • Claims Investigation: Review script history to determine available funds and compare received payments with outstanding amounts.
  • Communication: Inform Dispensary Managers of any levy changes and email the Remittance Register to the relevant Bookkeepers.
  • Query Resolution: Attend to all queries received via email daily, assisting Pharmacists, Dispensers, Dispensary Managers, Supervisors, Customers, Internal Auditors, and Medical Schemes.
  • Reporting: Report any compliments or complaints to Management promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Relevant Finance Qualification.

Competencies:

  • Medical Aid and Finance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of medical aid processes and finance.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in English, with strong reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills, with a focus on quality and professionalism.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Advantageous:

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in a second language.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be a South African citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Clear criminal and credit records (MIE).
  • Driver’s license and/or reliable transport.
