Job Overview:

Purpose of the Job:
To enhance production by leading electro-mechanical maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to procedures, and optimizing resources to sustain equipment, plant, and mine reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, control, and manage maintenance operations to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Oversee task quality, execution, and equipment utilization.
- Manage budgets and control costs where allocated.
- Evaluate and address emergency situations to minimize downtime, equipment damage, and SHE incidents.
- Ensure adherence to operational and maintenance procedures for team and plant safety.
- Optimize maintenance schedules to maximize production output.
- Address performance issues, misconduct, and grievances within the team.
- Develop team competence through coaching, training, and skill assessments.
- Promote team motivation, wellness, and alignment with company values.
- Facilitate effective communication across management and stakeholders.
- Participate in staff recruitment for the team.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Conduct risk assessments, including PDA and RCA, and manage work permit systems.
- Implement and enforce SHERQ processes and legal standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001).
- Ensure adherence to MOC processes and implement changes within maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate resources, including personnel and raw materials, for seamless operations.
- Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement change initiatives.
Requirements:
- Grade 12/N3 with Mathematics, Science, and English/Business English (NQF 4).
- Valid EM Trade Test Certificate (Qualified EM/Millwright).
- Certifications: Blasting Certificate, Gas Testing Certificate, Flameproof Certificate.
- Knowledge of work management processes and maintenance documentation systems.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including coal mining underground experience (Fiery mine experience advantageous).
- Computer literacy (preferred).
