Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Digital Marketing, Journalism, Media, or Copywriting (retail experience is a plus)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Social Media Manager in a reputable digital agency or retail environment
- Strong creative writing skills and an in-depth understanding of digital marketing best practices
- Proven ability to manage digital projects, coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meeting deadlines with accuracy and creativity

Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Strategy: Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to design, implement, and manage social media strategies that align with brand objectives and resonate with our target audience
- Influencer and Community Growth: Plan and execute influencer partnerships to expand reach and engagement; drive growth across all social media channels by setting and achieving clear KPIs
- Content Planning: Maintain a content calendar and posting schedule, ensuring timely and relevant content for our audience, including paid media and video content
- Brand Campaigns: Coordinate social media elements for major brand campaigns, ensuring seamless integration across all channels
- Team and Partner Management: Oversee the social media assistant and manage relationships with third-party suppliers; collaborate with the broader marketing team, buyers, and internal stakeholders
- Customer Engagement: Address customer service inquiries on social channels, turning challenges into positive PR opportunities
- Event Coverage: Provide real-time coverage of Pick n Pay Clothing events on social media
- Paid Advertising: Manage and optimize the social media advertising budget, working with third-party media buyers to enhance campaign performance
- Market Insights: Monitor competitor activities and emerging trends to keep our social strategy competitive and cutting-edge
- Internal Education: Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate internal teams on social media strategy and best practices
