We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Marker Maker to join our Cape Union Mart team. This role is pivotal in optimizing fabric utilization and supporting our design and production teams with precise marker layouts. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, accuracy, and efficiency to our marker-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create production markers that maximize fabric efficiency while upholding quality standards.
- Interpret patterns and technical specifications to generate precise markers.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, designers, and production teams to solve layout challenges.
- Ensure markers meet style, size range, and fabric requirements.
- Utilize CAD systems and marker-making software to develop and refine layouts.
- Maintain an organized marker library for reference and future use.
- Monitor fabric consumption and recommend efficiency improvements.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Fashion Technology, Garment Construction, or a related field.
- Proficiency in marker-making software such as Gerber AccuMark, Lectra, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of fabric types, garment construction, and production processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in marker-making within the apparel industry preferred.
