Introduction:
Pepkor is seeking a highly skilled Manual Test Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of new and customized software, including change requests and strategic projects aligned to business requirements. The Manual Test Analyst will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development and business teams to ensure seamless integration of SAP Modules.

QA Objectives:

  • Ensure new features or changes meet the acceptance criteria defined in user stories.

  • Detect and report bugs or defects early in the development process during the sprint cycle.

  • Provide immediate feedback to developers regarding issues or discrepancies in the product.

  • Collaborate with the team to resolve issues quickly, maintaining sprint timelines.

  • Test the integration of components or systems to ensure seamless functionality.

  • Validate new features and ensure they work well with existing ones without introducing regressions.

  • Manually test critical areas affected by recent changes.

  • Participate in sprint planning to understand requirements and contribute to test effort estimation.

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and automation testers to create comprehensive test cases.

  • Adjust test plans and test cases dynamically based on changing priorities or scope in the sprint.

  • Focus on testing critical and high-priority functionalities within time constraints.

  • Ensure the Definition of Done (DoD) is met by validating user stories and quality standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Roles:

  • Represent the perspective of the end user to ensure the product meets user needs.

  • Act as a quality champion within the team, promoting best practices in testing and development.

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and team members to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories.

  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives) to align with the team’s objectives.

  • Document and report bugs effectively to ensure developers understand the issue and its impact.

  • Work closely with developers to reproduce and verify fixes for reported defects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Requirement Analysis:

    • Review and understand user stories, acceptance criteria, and associated documentation.

    • Provide feedback on requirements to ensure they are clear, testable, and complete.

  2. Test Planning:

    • Identify testing requirements for each sprint.

    • Create test plans and test scenarios covering functional, integration, and exploratory testing needs.

    • Baseline test cases with BA/Functionals/Product Owners.

  3. Test Design and Execution:

    • Design, document, and execute test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria.

    • Perform manual testing to validate the functionality, usability, and reliability of the product.

  4. Defect Identification and Reporting:

    • Log defects with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, and relevant information.

    • Prioritize and track defects to ensure timely resolution within the sprint.

  5. Regression Testing:

    • Manually test critical functionalities after changes or fixes to ensure no new issues are introduced.

    • Collaborate with automation testers to fill gaps in regression coverage.

  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with the Product Owner to clarify acceptance criteria and priorities.

    • Provide real-time feedback to developers during the sprint.

    • Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to the Scrum team.

  7. Support Sprint Goals:

    • Test features incrementally to provide timely feedback and ensure sprint deliverables align with goals.

    • Adapt to scope changes and re-prioritize testing activities as needed.

  8. Participate in Retrospectives:

    • Share feedback and suggest process improvements for testing and team collaboration.

  9. Solman:

    • Keep charms in the correct status by updating signed POTs before CAB sessions.

  10. Regression Test Pack Updating:

  • Keep the regression test pack up to date with each sprint and assist the automation team by providing walkthroughs of automation test scenarios.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in Test Analysis or a similar quality assurance role.

  • Strong understanding of Sanity, Functional, Integration, and Regression Testing.

  • Proficiency in test management tools and test automation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Knowledge of Retail domain and SAP Testing is beneficial.
