Position Overview:

As a Manager, you will play a key role in positioning and promoting MTN’s Mobile and ICT value proposition. You will lead a team of account managers to drive business growth, expand opportunities, and strengthen existing customer relationships. This role requires the development and execution of sales strategies and tactics that maximize opportunities within a dynamic and fast-evolving telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute sales strategies to maximize opportunities within the customer environment.
  • Drive profitable growth by increasing solution-based selling and value-added services.
  • Meet revenue targets and grow monthly recurring revenue.
  • Manage and motivate a team of account managers, ensuring high performance and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Expand product offerings and drive customer acquisition.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences through proactive issue resolution and support.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee operational excellence, ensuring continuous process improvements.

Operations & Service Excellence:

  • Implement and track business plans to meet sales and operational goals.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement solutions.
  • Ensure sales performance meets key targets and standards.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Team Management:

  • Manage and mentor a team, driving accountability, performance, and development.
  • Build a strong team culture, encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent to ensure team success.
  • Implement performance management practices to achieve results.

Project Management:

  • Lead and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Manage risks and compliance in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Drive the implementation of the integrated project management model.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-year degree/diploma in Commerce, Marketing, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience managing sales account teams in the telecommunications sector.
  • Proven track record of closing large strategic deals.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of telecommunications sales processes and customer buying cycles.
  • Experience in public sector sales is a plus.
