MTN Benin is seeking a Manager – Rollout and RAN, Capital Projects Group to lead the implementation of network rollout and upgrade projects. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient project execution in line with network requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the acquisition and construction of new sites, ensuring alignment with network specifications and regulatory standards.
- Design and implement short- and medium-term tactical plans to meet network capacity deployment needs.
- Lead the end-to-end deployment of RAN modernization, upgrades, installation, and commissioning.
- Manage project documentation, database updates, and weekly reporting to the Program Manager.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on procurement, clearance, and deployment of network upgrade hardware.
- Work closely with vendors and contractors to maintain network quality and availability KPIs.
- Prepare and manage RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, and scope of work reports for network upgrade projects.
- Establish and maintain communication with key stakeholders, department heads, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations and provide reports for senior management review.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements related to site deployment and upgrades.
- Identify risks associated with rollout activities and implement mitigation measures.
- Optimize warehouse material management to ensure availability of resources for project execution.
- Drive continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and enhancing project processes.
Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities
- Set objectives for team members and track progress against key performance indicators.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team through training and mentorship.
- Oversee hiring and workforce planning for rollout projects.
- Foster a results-driven and collaborative work environment.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accurate tracking of subprojects, including BTS upgrades, swaps, and installations.
- Timely updates and reports on project progress and resource management.
- Compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
- Effective stakeholder coordination and communication.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Project Management certification or diploma is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the telecom industry, including 2 years in project management.
- Strong knowledge of Ericsson and Huawei RAN equipment, transmission systems, telecom installation, and commissioning.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements, stakeholder management, and site acquisition processes.
- Experience in managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with procurement processes.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in GSM architecture and telecom deployment processes.
- Strong project management and quality assurance skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other project management tools.
- Risk assessment and mitigation expertise.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Work Conditions
- Office-based with frequent field visits.
