MTN is looking for a Manager – Pricing, Strategy and Innovation to develop and implement pricing strategies that align with business objectives and market dynamics. This role focuses on pricing governance, analytics, and optimization to drive revenue growth and maintain competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy and Execution
- Develop pricing strategies and frameworks to support business objectives.
- Align pricing models with MTN’s strategic goals and market trends.
- Define key pricing metrics and KPIs to measure pricing performance.
- Conduct financial modeling and analysis to determine optimal price points.
- Evaluate pricing actions to enhance profitability and market competitiveness.
- Collaborate with external experts to build pricing models for different market segments.
- Assess the impact of pricing decisions on business risks and regulatory compliance.
Governance and Compliance
- Support the implementation of governance structures for pricing decisions.
- Provide insights into the macro and competitive landscape.
- Monitor compliance with pricing regulations and mitigate risks associated with anti-competitive practices.
- Assist in regulatory reporting, tariff trends, and affordability analyses.
- Maintain a governance log of pricing approvals and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Pricing Analytics and Market Insights
- Utilize pricing analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of pricing strategies.
- Model customer behavior and price elasticity to inform future pricing decisions.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to measure financial impact.
- Track competitor pricing trends and provide insights for strategic adjustments.
- Develop pricing reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual analyses.
Wholesale and Retail Price Curve Management
- Design and implement pricing tools for effective management of wholesale and retail price curves.
- Provide pricing input and support for revenue forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Ensure pricing decisions align with MTN SA’s key value drivers and strategic priorities.
Support and Advisory
- Communicate pricing frameworks and strategies across business units.
- Provide guidance on pricing regulations and governance forums.
- Prepare reports for senior management and executive decision-making.
- Act as a key advisor on pricing-related business inquiries.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing analysis or strategy.
- At least 2 years in the telecommunications, TMT, or financial services sector.
Skills and Competencies
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Expertise in Power BI and SQL.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Understanding of telecommunications industry dynamics and operational processes.
