Description
BUCO is seeking a skilled and experienced Manager Operations to join our team in Cape Town CBD. This critical role involves driving operational strategies, implementing efficient processes, managing a dynamic operations team, and ensuring top-notch service and performance across various business functions. You will be responsible for overseeing operational efficiency, risk management, and the development of customer relationships while maintaining high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development and Implementation: Provide operational input for strategic planning and objective setting in collaboration with the Management Team.
  • Operational Implementation:
    • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
    • Enhance systems, processes, and best practices.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations and manage the operations team.
    • Monitor employee and team performance, providing coaching, training, and feedback.
    • Report on operational efficiency and quality standards.
  • Risk Management:
    • Manage risk exposure related to store operations, including compliance with legislation, Health and Safety, stock management, logistics, and corporate governance.
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Foster a culture of innovation and productivity through effective communication.
    • Ensure sustainability of service operations.
    • Lead conflict-resolution programs and practices.
    • Supervise and allocate tasks to the workforce, set deadlines, and monitor performance.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
    • Continuously improve customer service quality and satisfaction.
    • Uphold and promote BUCO’s values and culture.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Grade 12
  • Skills:
    • Strong teamwork and people management skills
    • Excellent communication and financial acumen
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience:
    • A solid understanding of business operations
    • Proven ability to build and maintain positive customer and people relationships
    • Experience in planning and scheduling tasks for teams
    • 5-10 years of experience in a retail/operations environment
    • Relevant system knowledge
