About the Role:
As the Manager for our Liquor Store, you’ll drive sales, manage promotions, and maintain high standards to achieve store targets and deadlines. This role is essential in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring compliance, and managing all aspects of the liquor department’s operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in the Wine/Liquor department or managing a similar department

Key Competencies:

  • Team Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to meet store goals.
  • Customer Service: Strong focus on delivering exceptional service and handling customer inquiries.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with liquor products and regulations for effective customer guidance.
  • Merchandising & Promotions: Skilled in merchandising, product presentation, and managing promotional activities.
  • Hygiene & Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in line with health and safety standards.
  • Sales & Profitability: Drive strategies for revenue growth and expense control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Merchandising Management:
    • Implement store planograms and ensure stock rotation per SOP.
    • Maintain promotional areas and ensure all products are fully represented on the sales floor.
    • Oversee the backup area to ensure standards are met and H&S policies are followed.
    • Work closely with demand planning to meet customer needs effectively.
  • Systems Management:
    • Manage stock levels, recording any out-of-stock or overstock issues.
    • Handle all administrative tasks for the department accurately and on time.
  • Customer Service Management:
    • Address customer complaints and respond to special requests.
    • Offer product advice and guidance to enhance the customer experience.
  • People Management & Development:
    • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and set objectives.
    • Identify and address training needs to develop team capabilities.
  • Finance & Administration:
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure effective functioning.
    • Manage departmental expenses, track budget variances, and investigate discrepancies.
    • Monitor and minimize waste, ensuring all financial protocols are adhered to.
