Sasol careers – Logistics Scheduler

Purpose of the Role

As a Logistics Scheduler, you will transform daily delivery and stock movement requirements across chemical product groups into optimized transportation and delivery schedules. Your role ensures seamless planning, scheduling, and execution to meet customer expectations and achieve OTIFWAC (On Time, In Full, With Accurate Completion).

You will manage logistics processes using advanced tools like SAP TM, address dynamic market demands, and maintain adherence to safety and business rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and allocate loads to transporters using the selection matrix.
  • Develop and manage daily distribution schedules to ensure optimal customer service and transport utilization.
  • Perform dynamic rescheduling to adapt to changing market and business requirements.
  • Monitor schedule execution, applying corrective controls to maintain adherence.
  • Override scheduling tools when necessary to ensure effective order execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, business rules, and scheduling parameters.
  • Identify and implement improvements in scheduling processes and tools.
  • Address Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow (YTT) parameters daily.
  • Maximize the utilization and value of logistics software, such as SAP TM.
  • Monitor transportation capacity, flagging and addressing short- and long-term constraints.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Relevant University degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in logistics scheduling, transport planning, or a related field.

  • Proficient in transport load management and logistics analysis.
  • Effective communication and customer focus.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to optimize work processes and adapt to dynamic scenarios.
  • Knowledge of logistics interfaces and advanced scheduling tools.
