Job Description:
Fidelity Services Group is seeking qualified Leading/Senior Firefighters to join our team. This position involves responding to and managing all fire-related incidents to ensure the safety of our clients and their property.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Leading/Senior Firefighter, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to fire incidents, emergency rescues, and humanitarian crises.
  • Handling incidents involving hazardous substances safely and effectively.
  • Extricating casualties and performing emergency operations as directed.
  • Providing basic medical care and resuscitating injured individuals under supervision.
  • Operating and maintaining firefighting equipment and vehicles to manage and extinguish fires.
  • Conducting fire protection duties in life-threatening situations while ensuring the availability of appropriate equipment.
  • Preparing for emergency incidents and protection duties with guidance from senior staff.
  • Participating in training drills, simulation exercises, and physical fitness activities as directed.
  • Training relevant employees on fire theory and practice to enhance safety protocols.
  • Advising on preventive and corrective measures to mitigate fire risks.
  • Implementing procedures and strategies to promote safety and security for people and property.
  • Performing basic maintenance on firefighting equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Completing computerized occurrence logs to maintain accurate records of daily operations.
  • Conducting health and safety inspections to uphold a safe work environment.
  • Driving and operating specialized firefighting vehicles during emergency incidents.
  • Ensuring fire apparatus and emergency equipment are operated safely and effectively.
  • Assisting with fire safety training, inspections, and educational drills.
  • Complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by conducting safety inspections and ensuring adherence to protective clothing protocols.
  • Maintaining prescribed equipment maintenance schedules and performing necessary repairs.
  • Completing all shift-related administrative tasks as specified in departmental policies.
  • Undertaking supervisory functions as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum educational requirement: Grade 12.
  • IFSAC Accredited and NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification.
  • 2-3 years of relevant firefighting experience.
  • Valid code C1 driver’s license with PrDP; advanced driving experience is advantageous.
  • Must be medically and physically fit.
  • Strong understanding of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems, including classes and chemistry of fire.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Ability to react efficiently to emergency situations.
  • Strong administration, interpersonal communication, and customer liaison skills.
  • Hazmat experience and knowledge are essential.
  • EMT certification and First Aid levels 1 to 3 are required.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of Hazmat guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the security industry and adherence to group conduct codes.
  • Understanding of firefighter instructor applications within an operational context.
