Fidelity Group has positions available for experienced Firefighters to respond to and manage fire-related incidents. These positions require individuals who can handle firefighting, emergency rescue services, provide basic medical care, focus on fire prevention and training, and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus, ensuring the protection of lives and property.

Key Responsibilities:
The Lead/Senior Firefighter will carry out firefighting and emergency operations with guidance, mentorship, and supervision from senior officers, including the following tasks:

  • Responding to fires, rescues, and other emergency and non-emergency incidents.
  • Addressing hazardous material incidents and providing rescue support.
  • Conducting casualty extrication or release and carrying out emergency operations as directed.
  • Resuscitating and treating injured persons, following emergency operation protocols.
  • Operating equipment to manage and extinguish fires effectively.
  • Undertaking fire protection duties to protect lives and property, ensuring appropriate equipment is available as directed by supervisors.
  • Preparing for emergency incidents and protection duties under senior guidance.
  • Participating in training drills, simulation exercises, and physical fitness training.
  • Training employees on the theory and practical aspects of firefighting.
  • Advising on preventative and corrective fire safety actions.
  • Implementing fire safety strategies and using proper equipment for the protection of people, property, and institutions.
  • Maintaining operational readiness by performing basic maintenance on firefighting equipment.
  • Checking, cleaning, testing, and maintaining vehicles and apparatus.
  • Keeping computerized records of daily incidents to maintain proper documentation.
  • Conducting health and safety inspections in the workplace to ensure a safe environment.
  • Participating in Departmental Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Operating a variety of vehicles and machinery to support emergency incidents and victim extrication.
  • Ensuring fire apparatus and emergency equipment are safely operated to save lives and protect property.
  • Assisting in Fire and Safety training, safety inspections, life safety education, and drills.
  • Ensuring adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act by conducting safety inspections and ensuring the use of prescribed protective clothing.
  • Ensuring compliance with equipment maintenance schedules and performing repairs when necessary to ensure operational readiness.
  • Completing shift-related administrative tasks, maintaining records and registers in accordance with Fire Chief guidelines.
  • Supervising personnel as required and undertaking line functional duties.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 as a minimum school qualification.
  • IFSAC Accredited.
  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 certification.
  • Firefighter II Certification.
  • At least 2-3 years of firefighting training and experience.
  • Valid code C1 driver’s license with PrDP.
  • Advanced driving experience is advantageous.
  • Medically and physically fit.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire prevention practices and fire-fighting systems.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations.
  • Strong administrative, communication, and customer liaison skills.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat procedures and regulations.
  • EMT certification and First Aid levels 1 to 3 certification.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of Hazmat guidelines.
  • Knowledge of security industry practices and adherence to codes of conduct.
