Job Description:
As the Lead Operator: Beverages Production, you will oversee the production objectives of your section, ensuring adherence to product specifications and effective staff management. Your role involves motivating and training your team, operating and maintaining equipment, and driving workplace improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Motivate, train, and manage staff to ensure team collaboration and adherence to product specifications.
  • Equipment Operation: Ensure that preparation and processing equipment operates according to machine and product specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain product standards and specifications, ensuring that all manufactured products meet quality criteria.
  • Workplace Improvement: Achieve workplace improvement goals through MECP (Manufacturing Excellence and Continuous Improvement) and uphold 5S standards.
  • Time and Attendance Management: Oversee daily time and attendance of your team.
  • Problem Solving: Lead FI (Focused Improvement) problem-solving teams to address and resolve plant issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards within the plant.
  • Cost Management: Manage all cost-related inputs and outputs of the plant based on MUV (Material Usage Variance).
  • Quality Parameters: Maintain quality parameters across the plant on a daily basis.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Asset Management: Understand and manage plant assets using the PM (Preventive Maintenance) pillar, and drive execution on the AM (Autonomous Maintenance) pillar.
  • Skills Development: Foster skills development within your team through structured systems and training.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Effective management of staff in line with company policies.
  • Maintenance and operation of preparation and processing equipment.
  • Production of products according to plan and specifications.
  • Support and drive implementation of workplace improvement programs through MECP principles.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Grade 12, Mechanical Maintenance qualification, Supervisory qualification (e.g., TMA).
  • Experience: 3 years of experience as a manufacturing Supervisor or Team Leader, with a background in mechanical maintenance and managing subordinates.
  • Core Knowledge: Safety regulations, food safety standards, government policies on health and safety, project management, and risk management.
  • Behavioral Skills: Analytical and problem-solving abilities, ability to work under pressure, strong communication and service orientation, planning skills, strategic thinking, and innovative thinking skills.
