Fidelity Vacancies – Junior Firefighter-Stellenbosch

Fidelity is looking for a Junior Firefighter in Stellenbosch to respond to fire-related emergencies, provide rescue services, deliver basic medical care, and support fire prevention efforts. This role requires operating and maintaining firefighting equipment, participating in training exercises, and ensuring the safety of people and property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire, rescue, and hazardous substance incidents
  • Perform emergency operations under the supervision of senior officers
  • Provide first aid and emergency medical assistance when required
  • Operate equipment to manage and extinguish fires effectively
  • Participate in fire prevention and safety awareness initiatives
  • Conduct training drills, simulations, and physical fitness exercises
  • Inspect and maintain firefighting equipment and vehicles to ensure operational readiness
  • Assist in fire and safety training, inspections, and public education programs
  • Complete administrative tasks, including incident logs and safety reports
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements and internal policies

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • IFSAC Accredited and NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification
  • Minimum 2–3 years of firefighting experience
  • Valid C1 driver’s license with PrDP
  • Advanced driving experience is an advantage
  • Medically and physically fit for firefighting duties
  • Strong knowledge of fire prevention procedures and firefighting systems
  • Hazmat experience and knowledge are essential
  • EMT certification and First Aid Levels 1 to 3
  • Clear criminal record
