Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available at our Dunns Support office within the Merchandise Department for a Junior Designer. This role is responsible for interpreting trend designs and generating original CADs, artworks, trims, and complete tech packs. The successful candidate will collaborate with buyers in the respective portfolio and utilize group trend resources to bring these concepts to life.

Qualifications
- Relevant Degree (e.g., Fine Arts/Graphic Design) or Diploma (e.g., Art/Graphic Design/Fashion/Clothing Design)
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clothing (product) design as a Fashion Designer, with proven experience in retail and apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
- Strong ability to interpret conceptual ideas into brand-appropriate designs.
- Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle, particularly related to buying.
- Familiarity with product/fabric construction and design program fabrics (advantageous).
- Ability to identify trends and translate them into relevant designs for the brand’s target customer.
- Experience designing updates on bestsellers and creating seasonal repeats for various portfolios.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with seasonal trend presentations and execution of the design strategy.
- Execute the buyer’s briefs by interpreting them into CAD designs for supplier briefings.
- Propose seasonal trend updates based on current trade for each portfolio.
- Design products to support the merchandise strategy for relevant portfolios.
- Ensure all designs align with brand positioning and execute according to the merchandise seasonal plan.
- Deliver design elements related to labels, ticketing, and other branding devices based on buyer input.
- Translate seasonal trend directions into brand-appropriate fashion, ensuring all stakeholders understand how to apply trends to their portfolios in collaboration with the buying department.
- Monitor and interpret trends, leveraging both local and international resources, and condense them into actionable insights for the product.
- Work closely with the product technologist to create tech packs for supplier briefings.
