Position Overview:

Junior Design System

Sanlam is on a strategic journey to redefine client and intermediary experiences. In collaboration with the Head of Fintech Design, you will play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining scalable patterns and components for Sanlam’s design system. Your contributions will enable engaging, user-friendly digital experiences that inspire clients and guide them toward financial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, define, and maintain design system components using tools like Figma and Token Studio.
  • Support the development and QA of components within the design system team.
  • Research and provide recommendations on best practices in design system architecture and tokenization.
  • Collaborate with product design teams to create scalable, efficient components.
  • Implement design and tokenization standards aligned with Sanlam Group requirements.
  • Document design system principles, token schemas, and patterns for internal and external use.

Qualification and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Basic experience in creating components and tokens in design systems.
    • Collaboration with software development teams.
    • Financial services or UX research experience is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in Figma and Token Studio.
  • Understanding of UX principles and customer-centric design.
  • Familiarity with development methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and results-driven mindset.
