Sanlam Vacancies – Junior Data Analyst – Cape Town

What will you do?
As a Junior Data Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Requirements:
    • Provide monthly and ad hoc campaign lists.
    • Prepare, clean, and load data for campaign management.
    • Ensure quality assurance and data validation for campaign lists.
    • Assist with weekly reporting for status meetings.
    • Support the overall Data strategy for the business by assisting with key deliverables within agreed timeframes.
    • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Analysis and Visualization:
    • Interpret data and analyze results using analytical techniques to provide reports and/or dashboards.
    • Create visual representations of data (charts, dashboards, etc.) to effectively communicate findings.
    • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets.
    • Utilize data to answer key questions about the business.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Ability to use data to create reports that help teams make business decisions.
  • Strong proficiency with business intelligence (BI) tools and software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create reports and data visualizations that effectively communicate insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Cloud services and experience in leveraging these tools for data analysis.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling large datasets.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Certification in Data or a related field.
  • Proficient in Excel and SQL.
  • Practical experience in data analysis and analytics.
  • Experience working with campaign tools.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience within a data or analytics role.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • IT Data Analysis

  • Advanced Analytics to address business requirements
  • Familiarity with new technologies and methodologies.
