Job Description

We are building a talent pool for a Store IT Security Specialist position. This role involves collaborating with architects, system engineers, and IT support teams to define and advise on security standards, monitor network activity, and safeguard our IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT teams to establish and maintain security standards across the IT landscape.
  • Design and configure security hardware and software solutions.
  • Utilize toolsets to detect and respond to intrusions on corporate networks and endpoints.
  • Propose enhancements to the IT security roadmap based on threat assessments.
  • Train staff on security best practices and mentor junior team members.
  • Monitor and analyze software and hardware for potential cyber threats.
  • Conduct security assessments, internal scans, and ethical hacking tests.
  • Prepare and update security reports, action plans, and risk registers.
  • Draft and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Stay current with technical knowledge and advancements through continued education.
  • Provide automation solutions where applicable and participate in change advisory boards.
  • Perform research, design, benchmarking, and trend analysis to support security goals.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in a security role.
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure back-end support and enterprise solution deployment.
  • Solid technical expertise in networking (LAN, WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS, DMZ, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of Security Operations Centre (SOC) response requirements.
  • Proficiency in design, authentication methods, Windows, Apple, Linux operating systems, mobile device management, and cloud solutions.
  • Experience with scripting, vulnerability management, and the NIST and SANS frameworks is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, data protection (POPI), PCI compliance, and policy creation.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant IT degree and certifications in one or more of the following:
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CISSP
    • GIAC
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
    • AWS Engineer
    • GSuite Engineer
    • Associate of ISC
    • Certified Cisco or Meraki Engineer
