Job Description:
Anova Health Institute, a leading NGO dedicated to enhancing health and quality of life, is seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure & Security Specialist. Under the supervision of a designated manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the secure operation of our in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections. You will play a key role in detecting, investigating, and defending against security incidents, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our IT systems and data.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the functionality, currency, and cost-effectiveness of IT technologies.
- Stay updated on current and emerging technological trends, issues, and solutions.
- Oversee the effective operation of IT services and support across the organization.
- Serve as a technical expert in developing, implementing, managing, and supporting IT systems and networks.
- Evaluate and enhance IT service delivery approaches; test and optimize system, network, and data functionality; define technical requirements.
- Provide technical assistance and improve staff efficiency through technology.
- Offer internal IT support, including server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance.
- Maintain client confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Recommend and implement solutions to enhance business and IT processes.
- Manage and troubleshoot operating system hardware and software.
- Install, remove, relocate, test, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
- Apply software patches to operating systems and applications.
- Implement and manage computer network security defenses.
- Assess security vulnerabilities using appropriate resources.
- Utilize standard software tools to detect attempted security breaches.
- Ensure data backup and restore procedures align with Anova’s SOPs.
- Collaborate with IT staff to maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Respond to cyberattacks and network breaches as part of a team.
Role Requirements
Qualifications & Expertise:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT.
- Certifications such as N+, Network Security+, CCNA, and Sophos Certification preferred; CISSP or CISM an advantage.
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in IT network and security environments.
- Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.
- Familiarity with IT principles, systems testing, evaluation methods, and emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of Firewalls, security management technologies (e.g., SIEM, PAM), and vulnerability scanning solutions is advantageous.

- Proficiency in IT security platforms and Microsoft products (e.g., MS SharePoint, O365, OneDrive, MS Teams, Intune, SCCM).
- Familiarity with Mimecast Security Solutions is a plus.
