Shoprite Vacancies – Instructional Training Design Specialist

Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Instructional Training Design Specialist to create and develop impactful blended learning solutions that align with our organizational standards. This role involves designing innovative educational content and leveraging modern instructional design methodologies and technology to support learning and development goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Learning Design and Development:

  • Conduct needs analysis to tailor training solutions effectively.
  • Apply instructional design and storyboarding principles to develop learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Develop comprehensive facilitator guides, eLearning content, and instructional videos.
  • Ensure consistency in formatting and presentation across all materials.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously update instructional content.
  • Deliver training sessions as needed and provide coaching on training delivery methods.
  • Conduct observations and offer feedback to ensure training meets standards.

Collaboration and Team Engagement:

  • Work closely with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to deliver business-aligned solutions.
  • Participate in team activities that promote an agile, innovative, and supportive culture.
  • Foster a wellness-focused environment that supports team members emotionally, physically, and mentally.
  • Encourage open communication within the L&D team.

Financial and Reporting Management:

  • Ensure accurate data input and reporting within the L&D team.
  • Support administrative outputs using official data sources.
  • Assist with report compilation for broader People Solutions initiatives and consolidate costs and data as needed.

Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant labor relations frameworks, H&S standards, and POPI Act requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate instructional design risks.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with other service areas for smooth workflow integration.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities for improvements in instructional design.
  • Stay informed on emerging instructional design technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Graphic Design, or related field (beneficial).

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year in instructional training design or a similar role with end-to-end learning design and training delivery experience (essential).

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience within the FMCG or retail sector.
