Shoprite Vacancies – Instructional Training Design Specialist – Cape Town

Purpose of the Job
We are seeking an Instructional Training Design Specialist to create innovative, blended learning solutions aligned with organizational standards. In this role, you will design, develop, and refine learning programs using sound instructional methodologies, leveraging current technologies, and managing projects to achieve effective learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Design & Development:
    • Analyze training needs and design appropriate solutions.
    • Conduct instructional design, including storyboarding and crafting engaging learning objectives.
    • Develop comprehensive facilitator guides, eLearning materials, and instructional videos.
    • Continuously refine learning content and programs, ensuring consistency across all resources.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Engage with stakeholders to support content development and gather feedback for content improvements.
    • Deliver training sessions as needed and mentor others on effective delivery techniques.
    • Observe and provide constructive feedback on course delivery to maintain standards.
  • Team Engagement & Culture:
    • Actively participate in team initiatives to foster an innovative, agile, and employee-centric environment.
    • Support team wellness and promote transparent communication.
  • Reporting & Compliance:
    • Maintain accuracy in data input, reporting, and administrative tasks for Learning & Development.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, health and safety, and legislative requirements, including POPI Act.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement improvements in instructional design services.
    • Stay informed about and suggest new instructional design technologies to enhance training impact.

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Background

  • Degree in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Graphic Design, or related field (beneficial).

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year in instructional training design or a similar role with experience in end-to-end learning design and development (essential).
  • Experience in FMCG, retail, or a similar sector (preferred).

Skills

  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
