Role Overview
PepsiCo is looking for an HR Specialist for the Epping Rice Plant, focused on supporting the commercialization of our business by ensuring robust HR processes and employee engagement. This role will oversee all HR functions at the site, providing strategic leadership in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and workforce development. As an HR business partner, you’ll work closely with managers to drive business success while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts, ensuring compliance with Employment Equity targets and workforce planning.
  • Employee Relations: Manage disciplinary actions, grievances, and union relations. Support a constructive relationship with union representatives and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Performance & Development: Drive PepsiCo’s Performance Management and Talent Management cycles, ensuring employees have clear objectives, performance reviews, and growth opportunities.
  • Employee Wellness: Oversee the deployment of the Employee Wellness Programme and support managers in addressing employee well-being needs.
  • Employee Engagement: Co-develop and execute a culture and engagement plan, driving continuous improvement in morale and site dynamics.
  • HR Administration: Ensure high-quality HR processes, including payroll, promotions, separations, and compliance with legal and governance audits.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Monitor and report on key HR metrics such as employee turnover, employment equity, discipline, and union growth, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Change Management: Support organizational changes and projects through effective HR strategies and communication.

Qualifications

  • Education: B Tech or Degree in Social Sciences, HR Management, or Business Management.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an HR role, with experience in managing labor relations, recruitment, and HR compliance.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of labor legislation, disciplinary procedures, and CCMA preparation.
    • Experience with BBBEE principles and working with shop stewards.
    • Coaching and change management skills.
    • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
