Truworths International Group, a leading retailer in Africa, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a passion for people development and an innovative approach. With over 795 stores across South Africa, and a presence in the UK and Ireland, Truworths is known for its high-quality, aspirational fashion brands. This role will focus on providing HR support to Line Managers within the Merchant Area of the business, driving talent development, retention, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
As an HR Generalist, your responsibilities will include:
• Providing HR support to both staff and managers with the help of HR specialists.
• Partnering with Line Managers to develop talent, focusing on performance and succession planning within the Merchant function.
• Mentoring and coaching individuals at all levels, including facilitating 360-degree feedback and implementing development solutions.
• Supporting leadership development, retention strategies, and employee relations issues in collaboration with central HR.
• Contributing to strategic retention discussions and initiatives.
• Facilitating and coaching the development of graduates in the Graduate Merchant Trainee Programme.
• Supporting the Graduate Recruitment Programme by assisting in recruitment and selection processes.
• Enhancing and refining the Merchant Trainee Programme.
• Leading workshops and training sessions.
• Supporting and developing Merchant Trainers in the business.
• Managing and executing HR projects aligned with current business needs, focusing on strategic imperatives that drive improvements in performance, succession, retention, and development.
Qualifications and Experience
• A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in Organizational Development, Coaching, Training, or HR Generalist roles.
• Experience in Training and Development, mentoring, and coaching is required.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to execute HR projects effectively.
• Computer literate with excellent Excel skills.
