We are seeking HR Professionals with a passion for people development and an innovative approach. This role requires partnering with Line Managers in the Merchant Area of the business to provide general HR support and contribute to people management strategies.

Key Responsibilities

As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for providing HR support to both staff and managers, collaborating with Line Managers to develop talent and enhance performance within the Merchant function. Specific duties include:

  • Offering HR support to staff and managers with assistance from HR specialists.

  • Partnering with Line Managers to develop talent for performance and succession planning within the Merchant area.

  • Mentoring employees at all levels, including facilitating 360-degree feedback, supporting development plans, and implementing development solutions.

  • Coaching staff on employee relations issues in collaboration with central HR.

  • Contributing to strategic retention discussions to ensure employee satisfaction and engagement.

  • Facilitating Graduate development through the in-house Graduate Programme.

  • Coaching and mentoring graduates on the Merchant Trainee Programme.

  • Assisting with the recruitment and selection process for the Graduate Recruitment Programme.

  • Supporting the enhancement of the Merchant Trainee Programme.

  • Facilitating workshops to enhance employee development.

  • Supporting and developing Merchant Trainers within the business.

  • Leading HR projects that align with current business needs, focusing on performance, succession, retention, and the development of training materials and tools.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.

  • 2-3 years of experience in an OD/Coaching/Training/HR Generalist role or a related field.

  • Experience in Training and Development is preferred.

  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.

  • Excellent writing, presentation, and facilitation abilities.

  • Well-organized with the ability to execute HR projects effectively.

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
