Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic HR Business Partner to co-develop and implement human resource activities and programs within your designated departments or divisions. In this role, you will play a key role in driving talent acquisition, management, development, and employee relations while aligning with our company’s people strategy.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition:
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers on vacancies and personnel changes.
- Prepare and update role clarifications.
- Partner with the talent acquisition team to address current and future staffing needs.
- Conduct candidate interviews and necessary background checks.
- Prepare offers in consultation with the People Director and Hiring Manager.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including coordinating training with Talent Development specialists.
- Promote and support the achievement of Employment Equity (EE) targets.
Talent Management & Development:
- Identify key associates for succession planning and support internal growth, considering EE targets.
- Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for key associates, including those on the Watchlist, High Potential (HIPO) individuals, and critical skills.
- Monitor training needs and support line managers with associate upskilling.
- Create development content for line managers based on individual IDPs.
- Encourage and facilitate Connect Conversations with management to identify and address training needs.
- Support line managers in performance management and address any people concerns or issues.
- Provide career guidance and support to associates.
Culture:
- Design and implement cultural initiatives within the support center.
- Coordinate with the social committee to plan and execute ideas for the culture calendar.
- Facilitate “Dreams and Beliefs” sessions for new associates.
- Utilize feedback from engagement surveys to conduct focus groups and drive improvements.
Employee Relations:
- Implement and maintain consistent ER policies and practices across divisions.
- Address and manage industrial relations issues for line managers and associates.
- Facilitate relevant training sessions on ER topics.
Reporting and Trend Analysis:
- Compile and present monthly People board commentary.
- Analyze HR data using People analytics and Excel reports.
- Provide departmental HR updates for People’s reporting.
Benefits and Remuneration:
- Manage queries related to company benefits and escalate issues to the group if necessary.
- Handle death, disability, and Industrial Occupational Disease (IOD) claims.
- Oversee HR aspects of retirement processes.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input on Oracle HCMS.
Wellness:
- Contribute to the group wellness committee and provide input on wellness initiatives.
- Implement and manage wellness programs.
- Arrange counseling for trauma situations as needed.
People Strategy:
- Support the divisional people strategy by leading projects aligned with key people imperatives.
- Monitor and implement HR processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and minimized business risks.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree or diploma in HR Management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Officer, or HR Generalist.
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with relevant labor legislation (BCEA, LRA, OSHA, BBBEE, EEA).
- Understanding of CCMA processes, learnerships (SETA), and business acumen.
- Proficiency in MS Office, HR analytics tools, and payroll software (VIP).
- Strong business understanding of brand, product, customer, and retail market.
