An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Homeware department for a skilled and innovative Homeware Buyer. We are seeking a candidate who is resourceful, resilient, and capable of sourcing, trending, and procuring Homeware merchandise effectively. The ideal candidate will contribute to the achievement of departmental and business objectives while thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare product ranges in alignment with business objectives.

• Execute range plans and ensure effective product presentation.

• Present range reviews to key stakeholders.

• Drive product development and identify new products.

• Source and build relationships with suppliers.

• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts.

• Collaborate effectively with relevant stakeholders and departments.

• Oversee product quality and suitability.

• Manage and control sample stock.

• Perform general buying administrative duties.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of retail merchandise buying experience, preferably in a Homeware retail environment.

• Strong understanding of the retail cycle, merchandise buying principles, and processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.

• Proven negotiation and presentation skills.

• Strong commercial awareness.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Excellent eye for product.
