Dischem Vacancies – Health Merchandiser

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Health Consultant to join our team at the Paarl – Optenhorst store. As a Health Consultant, your role involves maintaining Dis-Chem’s merchandising standards in the health focus category while providing exceptional customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Up to 6 months of retail experience
    • Computer literacy (MS Office)
    • Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Advantageous:
    • Diploma or degree within the health focus category
    • At least 1 year of retail experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Restock merchandise as per business requirements to ensure shelves are always full.
  • Store and pack delivered stock or stock pulled from the storeroom in the correct spaces.
  • Ensure stock rotation on a regular “First In, First Out” basis.
  • Maintain front shop shelves and ensure products are neatly presented with accurate labels and pricing.
  • Build and maintain merchandising displays to Dis-Chem’s standards.
  • Assist with general stocktaking and manage your designated stock on the shop floor and in the storeroom.
  • Assist with back shopping to ensure the store operates efficiently.
  • Resolve customer stock queries promptly and effectively.

Competencies:

  • Essential:
    • Strong command of the English language
    • Ability to engage effectively with customers, management, and staff
    • Trustworthy and honest
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Presentable and professional
  • Advantageous:
    • Bilingual proficiency
    • Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry
    • Product and category knowledge
    • Ability to analyze ZMORE reports for ordering and stocktaking
    • Familiarity with SAP and Unisolv

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work retail hours
  • Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Reliable transport or residence in close proximity to the store
  • South African citizenship with a clear credit and criminal record
