Purpose of the Role
Sanlam is seeking a visionary Head: Organisational Effectiveness & Development to lead strategic initiatives that drive organisational performance and employee engagement. This pivotal role will focus on designing and delivering innovative frameworks and interventions to enhance organisational design, digital transformation, workforce engagement, and change management. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will support Sanlam’s culture and transformation initiatives while building Organisational Effectiveness (OE) capability within the Glacier Human Capital team.
Key Responsibilities
Organisational Design & Effectiveness:
- Lead organisational design initiatives to optimise efficiency and align structures with strategic objectives.
- Conduct functionality assessments of internal systems, processes, and structures to ensure effectiveness.
- Manage job profiling and evaluation processes in accordance with national policy guidelines.
Performance Management:
- Develop and oversee a performance management framework aligned with business goals.
- Foster a culture of high performance by driving employee accountability and recognition programs.
Culture & Change Enablement:
- Drive cultural transformation initiatives in collaboration with business clusters.
- Design and implement employee engagement strategies to enhance workforce morale and commitment.
- Lead change management processes to support organisational evolution and adaptability.
Employee Value Proposition (EVP):
- Create and implement practices that enhance the Employee Value Proposition and overall employee experience.
- Develop and execute strategies to boost employee retention and attract top talent.
Strategic Workforce Planning:
- Use data-driven insights to inform workforce planning and decision-making.
- Ensure alignment of Organisational Development practices across departments.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize organisational development practices.
- Build OE capabilities within the Human Capital team, empowering them to deliver impactful results.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Background:
- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
- Experience:
- 8–10 years of experience in Organisational Effectiveness, with at least 5 years in Organisational Development.
- Demonstrated success in driving strategic OE objectives and leading change management initiatives.
- Deep understanding of job evaluation, organisational design methodologies, and relevant legislative frameworks.
