Purpose of the Role
Sanlam Investments is seeking a dynamic Human Capital Business Partner (HC Business Partner) to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our human capital strategy. This strategic position involves partnering with senior leaders to align human capital initiatives with business objectives, fostering growth, innovation, and market leadership in the investment sector.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Human Capital Partnering:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HC strategies aligned with Sanlam Investments’ objectives.
- Translate business priorities into actionable human capital plans, ensuring alignment with workforce planning, talent acquisition, and leadership development needs.
- Drive people strategies that support business goals, enhancing organizational effectiveness.
Talent Management & Development:
- Lead talent initiatives including succession planning, leadership development, and retention programs.
- Partner with line managers to identify and nurture high-potential employees (HIPOs) and fill strategically critical roles.
- Facilitate talent discussions, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and alignment with Sanlam’s frameworks.
Performance Management & Engagement:
- Cultivate a high-performance culture through robust performance management processes.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance inclusion, well-being, and career satisfaction.
- Oversee remuneration reviews, ensuring alignment with Sanlam’s performance and reward philosophies.
Diversity & Inclusion:
- Champion diversity and inclusion by embedding equitable policies and fostering a workplace that attracts and retains diverse talent.
Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness:
- Guide organizational change initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Enhance adaptability and collaboration through targeted HR interventions.

- Provide guidance on labour laws, policies, and disciplinary procedures, ensuring compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
- 5-7 years in a Human Capital Business Partnering role, preferably in financial services.
- Strong understanding of South African labour laws and the asset management sector.
- Proficiency in HR systems and tools, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Business acumen and ability to influence senior leadership.
- Proven experience in leading HR initiatives in a dynamic, high-performance environment.
