Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Groceries General Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will help ensure our customers have an enjoyable shopping experience by providing excellent service, keeping the grocery aisles organized, and supporting stock management.
Key Responsibilities
As a Groceries General Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting customers by providing accurate product information and guiding them to the right items.
- Ensuring customers have a positive experience by addressing questions and resolving any issues.
- Promoting special offers and discounts to enhance the shopping experience.
- Processing cash and card payments, issuing receipts, and handling refunds and exchanges as needed.
- Receiving and organizing grocery deliveries and managing stock levels in the store.
- Neatly stocking shelves and ensuring that products are always available for customers.
- Quickly restocking items during busy periods to prevent shortages.
- Assisting with stock takes and maintaining an organized inventory system.
- Ensuring a clean and tidy shopping environment, including proper disposal of waste.
- Following all health, safety, and security guidelines.
- Cleaning designated areas such as the storeroom and other back-of-house spaces.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, you will need:
- A Matric certificate.
- The ability to work within 15km of the store.
- A clear criminal record.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Preferences
While not required, the following will be an advantage:
- Previous experience as a team member in a grocery or retail environment.
- South African citizenship.
