Job Purpose:
As a Graphic Print Designer: Kidswear, you’ll research trends, interpret them into engaging graphic prints, and create designs tailored to our customers’ needs—keeping value and style at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver on-brand, trend-relevant graphic print designs for kidswear
• Develop unique digital prints, including all-overs, placements, and engineered designs
• Monitor local and international trends in fashion and textiles, bringing fresh insights to our collections
• Build seasonal trend forecasts and color palettes
• Create presentation boards for design inspiration
• Approve artwork and ensure color accuracy by matching Pantones
• Apply knowledge of printing processes specific to apparel design
• Collaborate to ensure timely completion of all design projects
• Sketch technical drawings to support design concepts

Skills Required:

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Strategic, with a keen sense of South African retail and global fashion landscapes
• Ability to analyze, predict, and create designs that resonate with our customers
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Strong relationship-building skills with a business-oriented understanding of trends
• Highly organized, with exceptional time management and presentation skills
• Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about kids’ fashion

Knowledge Required:

• Understanding of the retail merchandise cycle in relation to buying
• Familiarity with fabric types and print applications
• Knowledge of character and licensing processes in kidswear

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of graphic design experience, with a focus on kids’ apparel
• Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
• Diploma or Degree in Textile Design, Graphic Design, or Fashion Design
