Job Description:
Join our team as a General Assistant at Food Lovers Market! In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring our customers have an exceptional shopping experience. You’ll assist customers in locating items, answering queries, processing payments, and maintaining a clean, organized store. Your friendly attitude and helpful approach are essential in delivering excellent service and representing our store positively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate product information, assist customers with selections, and demonstrate product usage.
• Address customer concerns and ensure they leave satisfied with their experience.
• Greet customers warmly, offer assistance, and answer queries with a positive and friendly demeanor.
• Promote current sales, specials, and offers to enhance the customer experience.
• Handle cash and card payments, issue receipts, and process refunds and exchanges efficiently.
• Receive and organize deliveries, ensuring products are neatly shelved and readily available.
• Restock sold-out items quickly to maintain availability.
• Dispose of store and storeroom waste responsibly.
• Assist with stock takes and inventory management.
• Follow safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
• Keep designated areas, including the storeroom and kitchen, clean and organized.

Requirements:

• Matric certificate.
• Proficient in English.
• Must reside within 15 km of the job location.
• Clear criminal record.

Preferences:

• South African candidates preferred.
• Previous experience as a General Assistant or General Worker is beneficial but not required.
