Job Description
We are excited to announce a job opening for an experienced Garment Technologist within the Design Division. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about retail, energetic, and a hardworking team player who enjoys learning and being challenged. This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team based at our Head Office in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor quality control for goods manufactured at CMTs and service providers, including cutting, printing, embroidery, pleating, and finishing services.

Liaise with Design Division Garment Technologists on quality issues.

Collaborate with the Design Division technical teams, operations managers, and planners.

Prepare AQL reports and S4 reports.

Report and monitor all quality issues arising at the factory, implementing action plans and measuring progress, while mentoring and training staff for improvements.

Provide daily reports to Head Office.

Manage priority workloads, appointments, and schedules efficiently.

Lead fit sessions from initial samples through to final production.

Ensure clear and concise fit comments are communicated to suppliers and factories.

Work closely with the Sample Room (Pattern Makers and Technical Manager) to support the fit development process from a technical perspective.

Participate in onboarding and mentoring CMTs regarding technical standards.

Manage the CMT base to ensure compliance with the correct quality standards, construction methods, and AQLs.

Stay informed about current regulations, legislation, and standards related to clothing manufacture.
Qualifications and Experience

Experience in a Quality Assurance role.

Minimum of three years in a similar position with a similar level of responsibility.

Pattern making background is advantageous.

Clothing manufacturing experience in a factory environment.

Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric, garment trims, and embroidery.

Experience in drafting and implementing QA standards manuals.

Ability to handle quality queries with CMTs.

Ability to travel to suppliers’ manufacturing facilities with a valid code 8 driver’s license.

Basic computer literacy with Excel skills.
