Job Description
Food Lovers Market is seeking a Fruit and Veg General Assistant to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include assisting with fruit and vegetable displays, answering customer queries, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. A friendly attitude and excellent customer service skills are essential for this position.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide accurate information about fruit and vegetable products, assist customers in selecting items, and demonstrate proper usage.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and ensure satisfaction with services provided.
  • Greet customers warmly, offer assistance, and answer questions in a positive manner.
  • Inform customers about ongoing sales and special promotions.
  • Handle cash and card payments, issue receipts, and process refunds or exchanges as needed.
  • Receive and organize deliveries, track stock levels, and restock shelves promptly.
  • Maintain product displays and ensure availability of items.
  • Dispose of waste properly and manage store cleanliness, including designated areas like the storeroom and kitchen.
  • Assist with stock takes and adhere to safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures.

Preferences

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is advantageous.
  • Experience with stock takes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cash registers or POS systems is a plus.
