Job Overview

As a General Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. Your responsibilities include assisting customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and ensuring products are always fresh and well-stocked.

Key Responsibilities

As a General Assistant, your daily tasks will include:

• Assisting customers by providing accurate product information and helping them make informed choices.
• Resolving customer concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
• Greeting customers warmly and answering their questions with a friendly attitude.
• Promoting sales and special offers to enhance the shopping experience.
• Handling cash and card transactions, issuing receipts, and processing refunds or exchanges accurately.
• Receiving deliveries, organizing stock, and keeping shelves and fridges tidy and replenished.
• Restocking sold-out items promptly and maintaining product availability.
• Properly disposing of store and storeroom waste.
• Assisting with stock takes and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Adhering to safety, security, and environmental guidelines, including emergency procedures.
• Cleaning designated areas, including the storeroom and kitchen, to maintain hygiene standards.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Matric certificate.
• Language: Proficiency in English.
• Location: Residing within 25km of the store.
• Clear criminal record.

Preferred Qualifications

• South African citizenship.
• Previous experience as a Team Member or in a customer-facing role.
