Food Lovers Market is seeking a dedicated Fresh Stop General Assistant to join our team! As a General Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. You will assist with locating items, answering questions, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Your friendly and helpful demeanor will help deliver excellent customer service and promote a positive image for our store.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide customers with accurate information about products, assist them in making choices, and demonstrate how to use the products.
- Solve customer issues and ensure they leave satisfied with the service.
- Greet customers warmly, offer help, and answer questions with a positive attitude.
- Inform customers about sales, promotions, and special offers to enhance their shopping experience.
- Handle cash and card payments, issue receipts, and manage refunds and exchanges accurately.
- Receive deliveries, organize products, and ensure stock levels are tracked and managed efficiently.
- Ensure products are neatly displayed on shelves and kept available for customers at all times.
- Quickly restock sold-out items to maintain product availability.
- Dispose of store and storeroom waste correctly and keep the store organized.
- Assist with stock takes to ensure accurate inventory.
- Follow safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
- Clean and maintain designated areas, such as the storeroom and kitchen, to ensure a hygienic environment.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
- Proficiency in English.
- Must reside within 25 km of the job location.
- Clear criminal record.
Preferences
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role is a plus.
- Experience with stock taking is advantageous.
- South African candidates are preferred.
