Food Lovers Market Vacancies – Forklift Driver –  Eastern Cape

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Driver to efficiently handle loading and unloading of products while ensuring safety and precision in all operations. This position reports to the Receiving Supervisor and involves working different shifts, including weekends, Sundays, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Forklift Driver, your main duties will include:

• Loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift on a daily basis.
• Safely moving and storing stock within the warehouse.
• Completing a daily forklift checklist to ensure the machine is in good working order.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Reporting any mechanical issues or malfunctions with the forklift immediately.
• Collaborating with supervisors and other team members to maintain smooth operations.
• Following all health and safety standards while operating equipment.
• Demonstrating a positive attitude and enthusiasm, even when handling repetitive tasks.
• Understanding proper handling and storage of various products, including fruits and vegetables, to ensure efficient and accurate stock movement.
• Managing tasks efficiently, especially during busy periods or under time constraints.
• Paying close attention to detail in all tasks to ensure precision and safety.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• A Matric certificate.
• Proven experience as a Forklift Driver.
• A valid forklift license.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work shifts, including Sundays and public holidays.
• Clean criminal record.
• Living within 15km of the job location.

Preferred Qualifications:

• South African candidates are preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Forklift Driver, particularly in an FMCG environment.
